MJVBA: Age Definitions (2012)

The age definitions & modifications listed below are for MJVBA events in Michigan Only. Not any other state or Nationals or USA Events.

18 & under
Players who were born on or after September 1, 1993

or players who were born on or after September 1, 1992 and are high school students during some part of the current academic year.  No College students/no post HS athletes. Out of HS = out of juniors

17 & under
Born on or after September 1, 1994

16 & under
Born on or after September 1, 1995

15 & under
Born on or after September 1, 1996

14 & under
Born on or after September 1, 1997

MJVBA Modification - or were an 8th grader or below for the current school year & were born on or  after June 1, 1997

13 & under
Born on or after September 1, 1998

MJVBA Modification - or were a 7th grader or below for the current school year & were born on or  after June 1, 1998

12 & under
Born on or after September 1, 1999

MJVBA Modification - or were a 6th grader or below for the current school year & were born on or  after June 1, 1999

11 & under
Born on or after September 1, 2000

10 & under
Born on or after September 1, 2001

MJVBA Modifications

This will allow those players who have early summer birthdays to compete with their age grouping but will not allow those students who are a full year ahead in age & physical maturity to compete in a lesser age division.

To have a waived players on your team. You will need some official documentation as to their grade for the current school year. A report card would be good. There is no need to apply for a waiver. You have to have this documentation with you at all tournaments in case their is a question about the legality of the player.
