Step 1: National AAU Club Membership Instructions

  2. 2011 Clubs click on renew your club.
  3. New Clubs click on Club Membership
  4. Follow the step by step instructions

NOTE:
Club Contacts and Coaches listed on the Club Application are NOT AUTOMATICALLY AAU MEMBERS, and must purchase an individual membership after submitting the Club form.

Go back to "Join Now" & follow the instruction for Non-Athlete Membership.

Club Membership will be revoked if you do not complete this step.

  1. Go to www.aausports.org
  2. Click Insurance Overview.
  3. Click on Insurance Certificates
  4. 2011 Clubs you may renew practice certificates

 

Step 4: Individual Members Instructions

  1. Go to www.aausports.org
  2. 2011 Clubs click renew your athletes.
  3. New Clubs click on athlete membership.
  4. When checking out make sure to enter a valid email address.
  5. Register all athletes and non-athletes with MJVBA by clicking here
 

MJVBA Eligibility Instructions and Check List

Read instructions for all four steps before beginning the registration process.  When registering make sure steps are completed in order and exactly as directions specify.

New Clubs in order to avoid duplication of Club Names, send your club name name MJVBA for approval.

In order for a club to be eligible to compete in any Michigan AAU/MJVBA tournaments, Clubs must have completed Steps 1 (Club Code) and Step 2 (MJVBA Club ID) and both parts of Step 4 (Step 4A - Individual AAU & Step 4B - Individual MJVBA Membership).

Click here to view a list of clubs who have registered with the National AAU and MJVBA.  Clubs appearing on this list do not get an automatic pass to play.

Check the MJVBA age eligibilities for your athletes.

If you are going to AAU Nationals you will have to adhere to the age divisions listed on www.aausports.org

Completing all steps is not an automatic pass to play in events. Each team must present an AAU generated roster at each event.

 

Club Directors Follow Steps 1-4

 

Step 1: National AAU Club Membership
Using the step 1 instructions to the left register your Club with the National AAU (you have 3 options). Register the Club Director with the National AAU.

Level 1 is for incorporated or unincorporated clubs. This is the membership all clubs had in the past. Cost is $30.00. Forms may be completed on-line or by US Mail.

Level 2 is for incorporated or unincorporated clubs. Tournament host must register at this Level. Cost $60.00 (tournament co-host register at level 1). Forms may be completed on-line or by US Mail.

Level 3 is only for unincorporated clubs and has the same benefits as Level 1 and Level 2. In addition the Club can become a subordinate under the AAU's Group exemption program, making the entity a tax-exempt organization. Cost is $300.00. Level 3 application can only be completed on-line.

No Club, incorporated or unincorporated, may use the name AAU or any derivative thereof in its Club's legal name.

REMEMBER: Complete Step 1 before proceeding to Step 2 below. Instructions are on the left side of this page.  When Step 1 is completed proceed immediately to Step 2.

Step 2: MJVBA Club Membership
Register your club with MJVBA.

Step 3: 3rd Party Facility Insurance Certificates
Obtain 3rd Party Insurance for your Club. This step is optional but highly recommended.

Step 4: (4A) National AAU and (4B) MJVBA Individual Membership

Register all participants with the National AAU and MJVBA.

Before beginning this process make sure you have your current National AAU club code to enter on all athlete and non-athlete individual membership cards. Your National AAU club code the one you received when completing Step 1

Step 4A - Instructions for National AAU Individual Memberships

Using step 4 instructions to the left, register all athletes and non-athletes with the National AAU.

Step 4B - Instructions for MJVBA Individual Memberships:

This step needs to be completed by one person for the entire club.

Club directors no need to register yourself until registering your entire club.

Every person in your club must be an AAU member to participate in a try-out, practice or compete for an AAU team.
