Step 1: Club Membership On-line Instructions

  1. Go to www.aausports.org
  2. Click on "Join AAU online"
  3. Click on "Join Now" CLUB CATEGORY
  4. Click on "Sign Up Now" on Level 1,2 or 3. Before selecting Level 1,2, or 3 read the information to the right.
  5. Complete all required information.
  6. Click Submit this Application
  7. Follow the payment instructions

NOTE:
Club Contacts and Coaches listed on the Club Application are NOT AUTOMATICALLY AAU MEMBERS, and must purchase an individual membership after submitting the Club form.

Go back to "Join Now" & follow the instruction for individual membership.

Club Membership will be revoked if you do not complete this step.

 

Step 2: MJVBA Club On-line Instructions

Step 3: 3rd Party Facility Insurance                         On-line Instructions

  1. Go to www.aausports.org
  2. Click Insurance Certificate Program
  3. Click on "Third Party Practice Insurance Certificates"
  4. Fill in your Club Code and your personal AAU membership number
  5. Click on "Push to Login"
  6. Follow the step by step instructions

 

Step 4: Individual Members On-line Instructions

  1. Go to www.aausports.org
  2. Click on "Join AAU online"
  3. Click on "Join Now" either ATHLETE CATEGORY or NON-ATHLETE CATEGORY
  4. Complete all required information.
  5. Club Code is MIVB.........
  6. Click on "Save and Continue"
  7. Click on either "Add a Athlete" or Add a Non Athlete"
  8. When done registering athletes and non athletes Click on "Finish"
  9. Click on "Click here to Checkout"
  10. When checking out make sure to enter a valid email address.
  11. Register all athletes and non-athletes with MJVBA by clicking here

It is highly recommended that all registration be done online.

There is a significant amount of time delay doing the registration process through the US Mail.

  3. Click on both Club Application & Non-Athlete Application
  4. Print both forms
  5. Send both forms with appropriate fees to:

  6. The Michigan AAU does not accept personal checks. Send either a cashiers check or money order.

Step 2: MJVBA Club On-line Instructions

There is no US Mail Option for MJVBA Club membership.

 

Step 3: 3rd Party Facility Insurance US Mail Instructions

  1. Go to www.aauofmichigan.com or www.aaumichigan.org

  3. Click on Request for Liability Insurance
  4. Print form
  5. Follow the instructions
  6. You must complete all information requested or the request will not be processed.
  7. Your club number is your sanction number
  8. You are requesting a 3rd party rider for your practices.
  9. Send the form with appropriate fees to: Michigan AAU

MJVBA Eligibility Instructions and Check List (2008)

Read instructions for all four steps before beginning the registration process.  When registering make sure steps are completed in order and exactly as directions specify.

New Clubs in order to avoid duplication of Club Names, send your club name name MJVBA for approval.

In order for a club to be eligible to compete in any Michigan MJVBA/AAU tournaments, Clubs must have completed Steps 1 (Club Code) and Step 2 (MJVBA Club ID) and both parts of Step 4 (Individual AAU & MJVBA Membership) of the registration process.

Step 1: National AAU Club Membership
Using the step 1 instructions to the left (online or regular mail) register your Club with the National AAU (this year you have 3 options). Register the Club Director with the National AAU. Check the age eligibilities for your players.

Level 1 is for incorporated or unincorporated clubs. This is the membership all clubs had in the past. Cost is $30.00. Forms may be completed on-line or by US Mail.

Level 2 is for incorporated or unincorporated clubs. Tournament host must register at this Level. Cost $60.00 (tournament co-host register at level 1). Forms may be completed on-line or by US Mail.

Level 3 is only for unincorporated clubs and has the same benefits as Level 1 and Level 2. In addition the Club can become a subordinate under the AAU's Group exemption program, making the entity a tax-exempt organization. Cost is $300.00. Level 3 application can only be completed on-line.

If you plan on registering your club as a level 3 club go to www.aausports.org   and click on "Join Now";click on"Join Now" CLUB CATEGORY; scroll down to Level 3 and read all the steps, paper work, etc. requirements for this level.

No Club, incorporated or unincorporated, may use the name AAU or any derivative thereof in its Club's legal name.

REMEMBER: Complete Step 1 On-Line or by US Mail before proceeding to Step 2 below. Instructions are on the left side of this page.  When Step 1 is completed proceed immediately to Step 2. It is highly recommended that registrations be done on line to obtain Club Membership, Club Code, AAU cards and numbers instantly

Step 3: 3rd Party Facility Insurance
Obtain 3rd Party Insurance for your Club. This step is optional but highly recommended. You may do this on-line or through the US Mail.

Register all participants with the National AAU and MJVBA. You may do this on-line or through the US Mail.

Before beginning this process make sure you have your current club code to enter on all athlete and non-athlete individual membership cards.
