MJVBA Eligibility Instructions and Check List (2008)
Read instructions for
all four steps
before beginning the registration process. When registering
make sure steps are completed in order and exactly as directions
specify.
New Clubs in order to avoid duplication
of Club Names, send your club name name MJVBA
for approval.
After reading the information
below if you have any questions,
contact MJVBA.
It
is highly recommended that all registration be done online.
There
is a significant amount of time delay doing the registration process
through the US Mail.
In order for a club to
be eligible to compete in any Michigan MJVBA/AAU tournaments, Clubs
must have completed Steps 1 (Club Code) and Step 2 (MJVBA Club ID)
and both parts of Step 4 (Individual AAU & MJVBA Membership)
of the registration process.

Step
1: National AAU Club Membership
Using the step 1 instructions to the left (online or regular mail)
register your Club with the National AAU (this year you have 3 options).
Register the Club Director with the National AAU. Check the age
eligibilities for your players.
Level
1 is for incorporated or unincorporated clubs. This is
the membership all clubs had in the past. Cost is $30.00. Forms
may be completed on-line or by US Mail.
Level
2 is for incorporated or unincorporated clubs. Tournament
host must register at this Level. Cost $60.00 (tournament co-host
register at level 1). Forms may be completed on-line or by US Mail.
Level
3 is only for unincorporated clubs and has the same benefits
as Level 1 and Level 2. In addition the Club can become a subordinate
under the AAU's Group exemption program, making the entity a tax-exempt
organization. Cost is $300.00. Level 3 application can only be completed
on-line.

scroll down to Level 3 and read all the steps, paper work, etc.

No Club, incorporated
or unincorporated, may use the name AAU or any derivative thereof
in its Club's legal name.
REMEMBER:
Complete Step 1 On-Line or by US Mail before proceeding to Step
2 below. Instructions are on the left side of this page. When
Step 1 is completed proceed immediately to Step 2. It is highly
recommended that registrations be done on line to obtain Club Membership,
Club Code, AAU cards and numbers instantly

Register your club with MJVBA.

3: 3rd Party Facility Insurance
Obtain 3rd Party Insurance for your Club. This step is optional
but highly recommended. You may do this on-line or
through the US Mail.

4: National AAU and MJVBA Individual Membership
Register all participants
with the National AAU and
MJVBA. You may do this on-line or
through the US Mail.
Before beginning this
process make sure you have your current club code to enter on all
athlete and non-athlete individual membership cards.

Every
person in your club must be an AAU member to participate in a try-out,
practice or compete for an AAU team.
